The 25th annual open house at the University of Nebraska’s Gudmundsen Sandhills Laboratory is coming up on August 21st. Nowadays farmers are doing their best to raise more crops with fewer inputs. That includes using the right amount of nitrogen. However, determining optimal applications can be complicated and lead to wasteful application and nitrate runoff. That dilemma drew UNL grad student Jackson Stansell to help create a better nitrogen management solution.
