A Real Family Update & Farm Work Continues 🤍🚜
Today's episode is a little different - we're getting real about what's been happening with Keaton and our family, while also showing you how life on the farm keeps moving forward.
Family Update:
We're facing some hard days as Keaton's tumor continues to progress. We're planning to attempt radiation therapy again next week, knowing it's not a cure but trusting God's plan through it all. Despite the challenges, we're grateful we haven't been admitted to the hospital since July. Life isn't guaranteed, but our faith is strong.
Farm Work:
While we navigate these difficult times, the farm work doesn't stop. We're cleaning out calving pens to keep them dry and manage disease before the expected rain hits. Jason is putting our new manure spreader to work - and let me tell you, this thing is the Cadillac of spreaders!
Equipment Highlights:
This new spreader features a "hydro push" system instead of a chain, plus vertical beaters that give us an even, smooth spread instead of leaving chunks everywhere. We're using the manure to build organic matter and reduce our fertilizer bills for our triticale ground and hay ground.
We're also showing off our large "snow" bucket for the skid loader - it's incredibly efficient for moving manure, silage, and all kinds of materials around the farm.
Why We Love Our Equipment Setup:
Having a local dealership that services most of our equipment (tractors, balers, spreaders) makes parts procurement so much simpler. All three of our tractors operate similarly, which makes learning and daily tasks way more convenient. And GPS guidance? Game changer for tasks like mowing!
Even in the hardest seasons, we keep moving forward - one day, one task, one prayer at a time.
