The 2026 Iowa State Fair Biggest Boar competition has officially crowned its champion in Des Moines, Iowa—and this year’s title came down to only six pounds!
Zoomer, a Chester-Hampshire cross owned by Todd Schuler of Atlantic, Iowa, claimed the title of 2026 Iowa State Fair Champion Biggest Boar after tipping the scales at an incredible 1,246 pounds. Finishing close behind was Reserve Champion Red, owned by Tom and Terry Bell of Olin, Iowa. Red, a Yorkshire-Duroc-Berkshire cross, weighed an impressive 1,240 pounds.
At more than half a ton each, Zoomer and Red are attracting plenty of attention inside the Iowa State Fair Swine Barn. The annual Biggest Boar competition remains one of the fair’s most popular agricultural traditions, bringing Iowa livestock, swine genetics and pork production directly in front of thousands of fairgoers.
Congratulations to Todd Schuler and Zoomer, as well as Tom and Terry Bell and Red, for bringing two remarkable boars to the 2026 Iowa State Fair. If you’re visiting the fair in Des Moines, be sure to stop inside the Swine Barn and see these big guys for yourself!
