It’s finally happening—we’re breaking ground for a brand-new barn here on the farm! 🚜 This barn will serve as a critical space for storing our apple boxes and farm equipment, especially during harvest and the off-season. It’s something we’ve been planning for a while, and we're excited to bring you along for the ride.
In this video, you’ll see us strip the topsoil and start shaping the site. We’re using a mix of heavy machinery to get the job done efficiently, including our CAT front loader and dozer. It’s a big job, but one that marks the beginning of a new chapter for our operation.
We’ll be sharing every step of the build—from ground prep and pouring concrete to framing and finishing touches—so if you’re into farming, construction, or just watching things get done, you’re in the right place.
This barn build is part of a bigger effort to make our farm more efficient and future-ready as we continue growing apples and cherries here in northern Michigan. Whether you're a fellow farmer, builder, or just love a good project, we hope you enjoy following along.
🔧 Equipment used: Dozer and Loader
🍎 Barn purpose: Equipment storage & apple box storage
📍 Location: Our family-run farm in the Traverse City area, Michigan
