It's 3 a.m. in the middle of the harvest, and this week we are covering how we shake cherries at night! I'm bringing you along for something that most people never get to experience, the nighttime cherry farm. It's fast, precise, and happens while the rest of the world sleeps, a unique process of picking cherries on the farm.
On my farm we are one of the only operations to work around the clock in the industry in Michigan! We have to do that in order to get all of our high quality cherries on the farm off during peak quality! By doing this we have outfitted our farm equipment with bright lights and continue to shake into the early hours of the morning!
