Missouri pork producers recently gathered to celebrate the strength of the pork industry and honor leaders who have made a lasting impact on agriculture in the state.
At the annual banquet hosted by the Missouri Pork Association, pork producers, industry partners, and agricultural leaders came together to recognize individuals helping move the pork industry forward across Missouri.
One of the evening’s top honors went to Rusty Black, who received the Outstanding Legislator Award. The award was presented by Missouri Pork Association Board Chairman Mike Diggs in recognition of Senator Black’s continued support of pork producers, farmers, and agriculture policy in Missouri.
Legislative champions play a critical role in supporting agriculture, protecting pork producers, and strengthening rural communities across the Midwest.
Another major recognition during the evening went to Don Nikodim, who received the 2026 Chairman’s Award. Nikodim served as executive director of the Missouri Pork Association for 40 years, helping guide the organization while advocating for pork producers and agricultural progress throughout the state.
His decades of leadership, industry advocacy, and commitment to Missouri agriculture have left a lasting legacy within the pork industry.
Events like the Missouri Pork Association banquet highlight the people behind the pork industry — leaders dedicated to supporting farmers, strengthening rural communities, and advancing pork production in America.
