Coming Back to the Farm, Coming Back to Share 🤍

After a period of absence, I'm returning to share an update on my life, our farm, and what's been happening behind the scenes.

The Hard Truth:

My son, Keaton, passed away on April 18th. I've been navigating life and our farm business while grieving the loss of my boy. For a while, I couldn't find the words or the strength to create content. And that was okay.

But it's time to step back into this space - not because the grief has disappeared, but because Keaton's legacy deserves to live on through the stories we share, the farm we build, and the faith we hold onto.

Six Seasons of Sharing:

This marks my sixth season of sharing our life on social media. It's been quite a journey. In 2019, I left a decade-long career in finance to focus on our first-generation farm business full-time. We were growing, struggling to retain hired help, and needed to make a change. That decision led us here - to Chronicles of Kayla, to sharing our story, and to building something meaningful.

New Equipment & New Beginnings:

We're introducing a Winrower 265 to our hay operation, and I'm learning how to operate it. It's one of many things we're doing to improve our farm business and set ourselves up for success in 2026.

Moving Forward:

I'm committing to stepping out of my comfort zone and continuing to share updates on the farm's direction throughout this year. It won't always be easy. Some days will be harder than others. But Keaton's memory, his spirit, and his love for this farm will be woven through everything we do.
