A Better Way for Our Heifers | Dairy Heirs

Dr. Emily and her tech, Cierra, came out to the farm to help us disbud and dehorn a group of our heifers. Traditionally, this has always been done a certain way on the farm, but we’re making the shift to using disbudding paste as an earlier, lower-risk, and more cost-effective option for our calves.
The girls did an incredible job working with our little ladies—and even with the littlest Dairy Heirs watching and learning along the way. It’s always special to see good animal care paired with hands-on education.
Peppermint, Believe, Cookies n Cream, and Bridgette are all doing well and thriving, and we’re excited to watch them grow.
Around here, we’re always learning, always improving, and always doing our best for our cows.
