Taking a Step Back, Moving Forward with Faith 🤍
In today's episode, I'm addressing our period of absence and sharing what's been happening behind the scenes with our family.
The Hard Stuff:
We've been navigating a difficult diagnosis with Keaton. Radiation treatments happened in March, and honestly, it's made focusing on filming and content creation incredibly challenging. But even with his health struggles, Keaton's spirit hasn't changed - he still wants to work on the farm, to be part of this life we're building together. That determination means everything to us.
Embracing Raw & Real:
I'm recommitting to sharing authentic, unfiltered content. Chronicles of Kayla has always been about farm life, but now I feel called to share more about our faith, the real challenges of our walk with God, and what it looks like to navigate grit and grief simultaneously. This is real life - messy, hard, and beautiful all at once.
The Barn as Sanctuary:
We're planning to restore our barn into a working horse barn - a project that holds deep personal significance. This space is filled with memories of our life with Jason and watching our children grow. This restoration is more than just a construction project; it's creating a sanctuary for healing and refuge during this season.
Trusting God's Plan:
Farming responsibilities continue regardless of personal hardship. That's just the reality. But through it all, Jason and I have learned to trust God's plan and work in tandem. This diagnosis has actually brought us closer, teaching us how to balance the demands of life and parenting with faith and grace.
I want to encourage you to find a church family, engage with scripture, and seek a deeper connection with God during your difficult times too. You're not alone in this.
Moving Forward:
We're planning to resume sharing content - whether it's backlogged material, current farm moments, or a mix of both, we're not entirely sure yet. But we're coming back.
Thank you for your prayers, your support, and for sticking with us through this season. Your faith in us has meant everything. As I close, I want to offer a prayer for you and your family as you navigate your own journeys.
