This week on Fridays in the Field, we visit the Raymond Central FFA test plot just outside of Raymond, Nebraska.
The project is a partnership between the Raymond Central FFA chapter, alumni supporters, and local farmers. Together they plant and manage a soybean test plot that helps raise funds for the chapter while giving students hands-on experience in agriculture.
Local farmers and businesses donate seed, crop protection products, and equipment to make the project possible. In return, students get to see firsthand what they’re learning in the classroom — from planting to harvest.
With dry conditions across the area this spring, the group is hoping for some timely rain as the soybeans go into the ground.
Fridays in the Field is presented by FNB — The Great Big Small Bank.
