We traveled to International Fruit Tree Association (IFTA) in Fresno to join growers, researchers, and industry leaders focused on the future of fruit production. The conference is packed with educational sessions covering orchard management, new technology, and the latest fruit tree research for apple, cherry, and specialty crop growers. Many of the presentations and resources from the IFTA conference are available online for growers who want to continue learning and improving their orchards.
While we were in California, we also stopped by the World Ag Expo in Tulare, one of the largest agricultural trade shows in the world. From cutting-edge farm equipment to new technology for growers, the expo showcases innovations that help move agriculture forward. Events like this bring together farmers, companies, and researchers to share ideas and discover tools that can improve efficiency and productivity on farms across the country.
Most importantly, this trip was about spending time with fellow farmers and researchers who are passionate about agriculture. Traveling together, sharing ideas, and learning from each other is one of the best parts of being in the farming community. Experiences like this help strengthen the connections between growers and research, which ultimately helps advance the future of fruit growing and specialty crop agriculture.
