We’re kicking off a real-world nitrogen efficiency trial on Honeycrisp apples here in Northern Michigan, putting AgXplore’s program to the test in a high-value specialty crop. With nitrogen costs where they are, every unit matters—and in this trial, we’re looking closely at how improving nitrogen use efficiency can impact tree health, growth and overall productivity throughout the growing season.
This project is made possible through our partnership with AgXplore, a company focused on advancing crop nutrition and helping growers get more performance out of their inputs. By combining practical field experience with targeted nutrition strategies, we’re working together to evaluate how these products fit into real orchard management and deliver measurable results growers can trust.
At the center of this trial is NZone Max, a nitrogen stabilizer designed to protect applied nitrogen from loss due to leaching and volatilization. By slowing down the conversion process in the soil, NZone Max helps keep nitrogen available in the root zone longer—giving trees more time to uptake nutrients when they need them most and improving overall efficiency.
Follow along as we track results throughout the season and break down what we’re seeing in the field. Be sure to check out the links below to learn more about AgXplore, NZone Max, and how you can get involved or sign up for more information.
